The Adventures of Jung Baaj – Leaving Anandpur Sahib

In Sikh heritage we have a strong oral tradition. I encourage you to use this story as an outline and tell it in your own special way. Children respond strongly to a caregiver’s “voice.” Please feel free to tweak this story as you see fit. Moreover, add some puppets or draw out the scenes as you tell your little ones this story. My daughter and I enjoy doing crafts together, so we built a small fort out of cardboard and added some paint while I told and retold her this story to engrain the major themes. In doing so, she asked more questions about her history and Sikhi in general. I hope this story along with other Jung Baaj adventures provides a means to tackle tough themes in our rich history so that our children can be more connected to Sikhi.
